It’s official. And it only took five decades to happen. Yes, Star Trek and Doctor Who, two of the most popular and venerable franchises in entertainment history, will cross over for the first time ever in Star Trek: The Next Generation/Doctor Who: Assimilation2 #1.
BBC Worldwide have published their Annual Review for 2011 which highlights Doctor Who as one of the ‘most valuable’ brands, largely responsible for the corporations commercial success.
Doctor Who was also the number-three TV series purchased globally on iTunes in 2010/11.

I’m not entirely sure what I think about Matt Smith as Doctor Who, but then again I’m sure I felt this about David Tennant and yet he turned out to be my absolute favourite. I also had some reservations about Catherine Tate’s role, but now I yearn for more Donna!
Blink was one of my favourite episodes and so I’m sure Steven Moffat will do a great job taking the show forward.
